The Effichange XPager Suite is a powerful and configurable migration platform to automatically web enable and mobilize HCL Notes Client applications. XPager empowers developers to convert existing Notes applications, reducing the effort by up to 95%. The XPager Suite enables even novice developers to successfully complete and scale projects with minimal risks, time, cost and resources. By default, XPager supports the automatic conversion of Notes client applications to XPages or away from Domino to ReactJS.
XPages enablement projects face many challenges like the lack of internal buy in; no solid examples; fear of scalability; low expectations for success; expensive and long pilot programs; cost and time and resources overrun. Migration On-Demand is a service that addresses these issues by allowing users to see their Notes Client applications in XPages before any investment was made.
Many HCL Notes and Domino customers have expressed an interest in modernizing, web enabling or mobilizing their Notes applications but have been concerned with the prospect of going through a costly and risky redevelopment or platform migration project. These customers, both large and small are concerned about the future of their Notes applications and their ability to meet the evolving demands of their various stakeholders.
The HCL Trouble Ticket database is a well documented openntf.org case study. This was an original Notes client application that was converted to XPages by HCL XPages experts. Since the time it took an XPages expert who was the original developer of this application to convert it to XPages was known, we used it to see how it would compare with XPager. For this case study the database was converted using the XPager suite and remediated by an inexperienced Notes and XPages developer who was not familiar with the application. The development process was documented and compared with the time it took the HCL experts.
In this presentation we show how The XPager Suite uses UI&UX frameworks in XPages to create multiple applications with consistent design to keep applications evolving with tomorrow's trends. We call these methods "Application Scaffolding".
HCL Notes and Domino customers considering the migration of their Notes client applications to other platforms to eliminate the dependency on the Notes client, web enable or mobile enable the applications, enhance usability or lower maintenance/licensing costs should be aware that platform migration of Notes client applications is an expensive and labor intensive task that poses a real and significant risk of business disruption.
